Abraham atau Ibrahim adalah Nabi yang dijanjikan keturunannya akan menjadi pemimpin bagi seluruh manusia. Hingga usia 86 tahun, Abraham belum memiliki keturunan darah dan daging, namun keadaan itu tidak membuat keyakinannya goyah akan janji Allah.<\/p>\n<p>Disebabkan kesabarannya, pada usia itu pula Abraham diberikan seorang anak dari istri keduanya, Hajar, dan anaknya itu diberi nama Ismail. Sekitar empat belas tahun kemudian, tatkala Abraham berusia seratus tahun, barulah dia memiliki anak kedua yang diberi nama Ishak.<\/p>\n<p>Apabila kita membaca Kitab Kejadian (Genesis) yang menceritakan tentang Abraham dan keturunannya, banyak nabi yang didiskreditkan oleh para ahli kitab. Misalnya, Abraham yang digambarkan sebagai Nabi cacat karena telah mengusir Hajar dan anaknya, Ismail, atas desakan Sarah, istri pertamanya.<\/p>\n<p>Para ahli kitab bahkan mengatakan bahwa Abraham memiliki gundik atau selingkuhan, memfitnah Hajar sebagai gundik atau selir Abraham. Sesungguhnya tidaklah demikian, Ishak dan Ismail adalah anak sah dari istri-istri sah Abraham.<\/p>\n<p><b>Perhatikan Kitab Kejadian pasal 16 ayat 1-3:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Adapun Sarai, istri Abram itu, tidak beranak. Ia mempunyai seorang hamba perempuan, orang Mesir, Hagar namanya. Berkatalah Sarai kepada Abram: &#8216;Engkau tahu, Tuhan tidak memberi aku melahirkan anak. Karena itu baiklah hampirilah hambaku itu; mungkin oleh dialah aku dapat memperoleh seorang anak.&#8217; Dan Abram mendengarkan perkataan Sarai. Jadi Sarai, istri Abram itu, mengambil Hagar, hambanya, orang Mesir itu, yaitu ketika Abram telah sepuluh tahun tinggal di tanah Kanaan, lalu memberikannya kepada Abram, suaminya, untuk menjadi isterinya.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; Janji Allah kepada Abraham yang akan menjadikan keturunannya pemimpin bagi seluruh manusia sudah tergenapi kepada anak-anak spiritual Abraham. Setelah Sarah melahirkan Ishak, Ishak memiliki anak yang diberi nama Yakub dan Esau. Dalam hal ini, Yakub sesuai perintah Allah, berganti nama menjadi Israel, jadi keturunan Yakub disebut Bani Israel. Yakub memiliki empat istri dan dua belas anak, dan anak yang diurapi untuk menggenapi janji Allah adalah Yusuf. Kisah Nabi Yusuf yang dikucilkan oleh saudara-saudaranya bisa kita lihat di Al-Quran maupun Al-Kitab.<\/p>\n<p>Janji Allah baru tergenapi ketika Musa diutus dari keturunan Bani Israel di Mesir yang menjadi pemimpin dunia bagi seluruh umat manusia. Begitupun dengan Nabi Isa yang merupakan keturunan dari Bani Israel, yang diberikan kekuasaan untuk menjadi pemimpin bagi seluruh manusia.
